Traycie Mitchell

Traycie began her journey with the practice of yoga in 2001 when surgery to correct a low back injury was unsuccessful and she was experiencing chronic pain. As a busy mother of four small children at the time, she needed to get back to living and caring for her family. Yoga helped to alleviate and manage the pain, yet also brought wonderful mental, spiritual and emotional benefits that she never expected. In 2014, a cancer diagnosis came into her life and an entire year was spent in surgery, chemotherapy, and hospitalizations. Throughout her cancer treatments whenever she was physically able, Traycie went to her mat, to her practice, and to her yoga community for peace, love and healing. Now in remission she has experienced a profound change in her awareness of the limited time we spend on this planet, the value of life, and the value of every students experience on their yoga mat. In her yoga classes she strives to make yoga accessible to every student no matter what their level of experience or physical limitations, because she knows the transformative power of yoga to heal and enrich lives. Traycie received her 200 hour certification from Danielle Fowler of True Nature Yoga School in Oceanside in 2013 and is currently working on obtaining her 500 hour certification with Lisette Hart of Roots and Wings Yoga School in Vista.Traycie loves to teach Vinyasa flow, gentle style Hatha, and Restorative yoga. In her free time you will find Traycie walking her dogs around Oceanside Beach, practicing yoga in a studio, hanging out with her precious family and friends, or reading books on yoga and philosophy. Whatever she is doing, she is doing it with mindful awareness that all we have is NOW. She likes to say, “Time on your mat is never time wasted.”
