Olivia Reed: RYT 200HR, Trapeze 50HR, Be Well Yoga for Cancer Recovery 55HR, Level II Reiki

Olivia fell in love with the practice of yoga after taking her first yoga class on base at Camp Pendleton. She loved the way it left her body feeling, but also how her mind felt released. She left that class wanting to share this feeling with the world. Olivia admits that her first couple of classes were pretty challenging with the chaturangas, balance poses and even downward facing dog, but by the end of class she left feeling renewed. She felt clarity in her thoughts and vitality in her body. She knew that she must continue this practice and eventually become a practicing yoga instructor to share yoga with the world. It wasn’t until three years later that an opportunity presented itself for her to become a certified yoga instructor. An opportunity she could not pass up. Olivia attained her 200HR certification from Sage Yoga Studios. She feels blessed to have received such diverse knowledge and training with Sage Yoga Studios. Learning from the many different instructors, teaching styles and yoga philosophies have broadened her teaching scope completely and she is forever grateful for Sage, Reyna, and the opportunities the studio has brought her. During her 200HR training she attained a 50HR Trapeze certification. Olivia was attracted to the inversion therapy along with resistance body weight training that targeted upper body strength building that just could not be achieved on the mat. She also has a certification in a 55HR Yoga for Cancer Recovery with Be Well Inc. A very specialized training centered on restoring balance physically/emotionally to the body's natural immune system to individuals and their families' dealing with cancer.More than anything, Olivia loves the practice of helping others help themselves. Olivia is always looking for ways to grow and learn in her personal practice so that she can bring the experience to her students. She is currently working on her 300HR, Yin and Yoga Trauma certifications. To her, yoga is all about the mind/body connection and how the two work together. Her classes focus on mindful breathing techniques that connect with movement through playful balance flows, conditioning strength poses, muscle lengthening stretch poses and functional mobility for overall body awareness and health. Arm balances are a favorite of hers and she always gives an option for students to work on their arm balance of choice each class! Overall, Yoga has taught Olivia to enjoy the practice or process of life, choosing to learn and grow, rather than reaching an end or perfection. A lesson she hopes all of her students will take away from each one of her classes.

When Olivia is not teaching yoga she sells real estate full time to families all across North San Diego County. In her free time you might find Olivia at the beach, filming nature or curled up watching a new movie with her husband.
